This trip will be an exploration of four Westerly Land Trust (WLT) properties throughout the town of Westerly. The trip will begin at the Charlestown End Moraine and traverse north through the Watch Hill and Slocum Quadrangles to look at features related to Glacial Lake Chapman and discuss the general deglacial history of the region. Participants will also hear from members of the WLT about managing these properties, including active restoration of a former sand and gravel pit.  Note, this trip will involve hiking, and we will likely cover 6 to 7 miles on WLT hiking trails over the course of the day.
